Look up Mikalor as they are the make .These used to be mega expensive aircraft industry only but have come down in price vastly.

i,v got an assortment of them,, found them in an odd add on ebay for motorcycle exhaust clamps/parts,,

they are also used alot in the food industry  in factory fittings and especially on  milk tankers

My garage buddy -another Postie who's into motorcycles & VWs & rents the garage opposite mine, which I used to rent, needed some clamps for his trailbike exhaust last week. I showed him the stainless Mikalor clamps on my Rover motor & he bought some. I just think they look nicer than Jubilee clips & clamp up better.

Thanks for all the suggestions chaps. Have ordered some genuine jubilee clips for now but will order some mikalor clamps once I am sure of the correct sizes needed.
Unfortunately my Dad passed away yesterday morning. Nothing more I can do now, but one thing he said to me recently was 'do what you want to do, as long as you are happy'. So with Nick,Chris and Gareths help and in memory of Dad this car will be finished and run down the track at Gary's Picnic next weekend.
So, down the workshop and break out me favourite tool the shrinker/stretcher and made up the last of the flanges on the lower body.

Also made a pair of vents for the air intakes on the lower body

And that was it, the last pieces made (hopefully) and then collected all the panels together ready to start prepping for painting on saturday morning.

Really sorry to hear that mate. My Dad gave me exactly the same advice before he passed away. It's a shame it takes us so long to realise that's the way we should live, but if we listen to the advice then it was worth it.

Yesterday was a good day, we managed to get the whole car painted. We had a head start after working till 10pm on friday rubbing down the panels so saturday was all painting but worth it.
Bottom body prepped and with the new air intakes cut out.

Started putting the trim on the nose this afternoon using the leather cord and doubling back through the eyelets, didn't like the look so removed and started again this time using the 3mm para-cord I originally bought. Should have stuck with my first idea but it turned out quite well in the end.

Took the painted body panels back to the lock up and hoisted the car in the air in order to slide the bottom piece in.

And then gently placed the rest of the panels on in order to get an idea of the look of the car, camera died after 1 pic.

Start bolting it all back together in the morning. Going racing Friday.

And then had a call from Tom from Adenville Metal Finishers, the parts I dropped off about 10:30 yesterday where done, it was only 9:30 the next day. 23hr turn around  so dashed over to collect them like an excited school boy.
