Geeze, you guys are digging up some memories for me!
Back in '69 my first future mother-in-law bought one them so me and the daughter could go out without getting soaked on my Norton Dominator.
Boy was she conned!
On our first trip out to the country, the engine got progressively noisier, I eventually limped it back to their house - no oil! Drained what was left out of the sump to find it was 50% sawdust - must be one of the oldest con-tricks going.
Still I managed to sell it for spares for more than M-I-L paid for it so all was well that ended well!

I sold mine when it started pumping oil out on top of the engine - seemed like a good move. Went all posh and bought a Morris Minor!

hi, well the pop had its first outing on sunday, met up with local club around half distance from show.(a drive thru mcd) then cruised(well they did, i followed up the rear  ) to show. only about 20 miles but seemed longer!!! we had all pre booked so had a large reserved area.  after lunch we then cruised back to our local american diner where we hold our club meets as it was also third sunday so club meet day. (1st & 3rd sundays) pop took some getting use to. side winds realy pushed us across the road!!! apparently thats normal for a narrow beam axle on x-plys!!! i'm off to work in it tomorrow then cub meet in the evening. cheers chris. |

Hmm, a narrow beam & cross plies you say ...good job I've got a nice big V8 in mine to weigh it down.  So what's it like to drive then Chris? Remind me -what engine's it running? |

noisy! hard work! need to look miles ahead to make a decision on braking etc.....................
no not been to bad but it is noisy and compared to a modern is f****** hard work!!!
it jumps on bumps, leans on bends.
and likes sitting there at 40mph will go quicker but 40 is comfortable.
loved driving it.
just need to remember what i'm driving and why people are staring!!!
and remember to cancel indicators!!
its still got its sidevalve and 3 speed in it.
i've had kev rooney telling me what i can do to it without biva test and keeping enough points to stay legal.

hi everyone, the pops been out to another show over the weekend, sorry no pics as i'd left me memory card plugged into the pc!! i've been looking through the rubish(spares!!!) i've been collecting over the years, since i've had the pop i hated the big mini style indicators at the front and back.  found these which i think will look loads better.   the rears  |

also been looking ahead to winter plans. going to fit triumph discs to front, anglia axle to rear(which i've had for ages) with mounts on for pop tranverse spring. going to use triumph pedal assembly's to sit on pop bulkhead.  Ford Popular 103e gone!!! also a triumph 1300 engine & box as no chassis mods are needed!!! just need to work out how to mount rear wishbone without torque tube. |

Didn't they have any indicators that weren't blurry Chis?  Nice. Same lights I've got for the back of my Pop. I've got Triumph discs on the front of mine too -if they can, (hopefully), stop a big ol' V8, the Trumpet motor shouldn't be a problem. Talking of Triumphs, might be worth having a chat with Renegade. He's our resident Triumph car fan.  |

well its started. not tearing it apart, just bit by bit during the winter. this bit first, along with front brakes.  has the mounts on for tranverse spring.   this is what will be coming out.   the biggest problem i've got is mounting the wishbone without the torque tube, unless i use a torque tube mounted to the anglia axle.  |
