Right where do i begin I'm useless with all this typing stuff so your gonna have to bear with me  Grin
the picture below is my current trike i built it 2 years ago and it was my first attempt at building a trike

I'm still learning as i go and screw up at least once a day  Grin
my next trike is going to be (hopefully) lol a 70's style chopper trike
the axle is a narrowed and offset reliant
the engine is a Honda ntv 600 v twin the forks are from several different Kawasaki's to get the length i required
The axle i used is my old one from my first build i did the unforgivable thing.I welded it solid and yep you got it
it broke in several place so i replaced it on my first trike and saved it for this build.
Ive replaced the axle tubes with much strong tubes i will include some pics.
Ive narrowed down to 37inch wide to allow for the 12inch wide tyres  Shocked
The wheels are from a dodge they are 5 stud so i had to figure the pcd out
which took a bit of head scratching lol

Sounds good.  Cool Those wheels will look the part on a 70s trike. 12" wide, yes please!! Grin

the next job i had to do was to alter the reliant 4 stud hubs to take 5 stud
once i had sorted the pcd out which turned out to be 119MM then it was a case of dividing the diameter of the circle by 5 to get the correct wheel stud hole position.I took the reliant hubs of the shafts put the hubs in my lathe and turned um down to a circle form the original reliant square.Pictures to follow.

next job was to turn a steel plate i had down to 130mm for my new hubs

i left a small flange on the inside of the new hud to take the old reliant hub that i had turned down

Very nice work, Loved the first trike, if only I could build like that. Very tasty m8. 12 inch wheels, them's not big them's bloody huge. Don't forget though...size is'nt everything lol.

i left the new hubs a lot bigger than and thicker than i needed so i could skim them to get rid of any distortion caused by the welding

after a bit of research good old goggle lol
i found that the pcd of my new wheels was the same pcd as a BMW 3 series and the trippy thing was thats the car i drive  Grin
I bought some BMW 3 series front brake disks they were massive  Shocked i had to machine them down to the same size as vw golf disks as i was using mankys brill idea of the golf callipers for my braking system

i hope im not boring people to much here with my babble i just hope this will be of some help to people with there future trike builds.
I know without sites like this one i wouldnt of been able to do half the things i do now. The info ive picked up from this site as been so valuable its saved me a lot of money and a lot of swearing lol

Its good to see someone using there imagination rather than just buying bits to bolt together. I think a few of us would like our own lathe though.
