That's the way to do it, it makes you feel good when major components end up being free after all the car had to be stripped any way. I felt chuffed when an old boy just gave me a complete reliant robin for nothing just for showing him some interest and for talking to him

CCC = Cars and Car Conversions magazine - the mag at the time for actually doing things and way before Custom Car and many of the others hit the shelves.
Oh yes! Back in nineteeen hundred and frozen-to-death me and my then hubby had a copy of CCC open on the kitchen table as we crossflowed the head on our 1600E!

Scottie collected the V6 engine today & delivered it to it's new owner. Tomorrow he'll be back with the cash for it & to collect the wheels for his race car that Loony's just sprayed. Another ongoing job. A young local lad wanted his Citroen Saxo smoothed out so Mr L's removed the number plate recess from the tailgate & welded in a filler panel, then added another into the bumper. He's also removed the door handles & badges. A bit of filling & sanding -O.K, a lot of filling & sanding, & you'd never know it didn't leave the factory like this. Check the reflection in the tailgate to see how ripple free it is. Just needs some cutting & buffing & it's ready for collection.

It was our first engine project - he later got a rep for building engines that didn't break so there were lots more! Back in our rallying days. When if I get the scanner working I'll upload a phot of the rally car.

Weekends seem to be party time at the workshop -which is fair enough as Loony's there more or less 7 days a week. Saturday saw at least a dozen people rolling in to work on various projects.

Sunday was quieter, but a lovely warm Spring day -perfect for tinkering. Chris has stripped his Scimitar down to the chassis.

Tom's Chevy truck. He also owns an XS650 Yamaha, which Loony's currently hardtailing.

You know you'd be welcome Shaun. I'm one of those milling about types, but I do pay rent for my workshop space.

The Scimitar chassis, stripped of all unwanted parts. The wheelbase is over a foot longer than the Moggy Minor, so the plan is to cut n shut it -take a chunk out of the middle & weld it back together.
