A twin wheel axle shortened right down to just the width of the rider would look kinda funky. That'd be 5 wheels though wouldn't it. Would it still qualify as a trike? Check out ValleysBoy's trike thread. He's putting together a van engined trike too.

wasn't there an article in BSH some time ago about a Transit trike ?, engine, box and axle but no frame, seat bolted on the bellhousing and forks onto a heavily reinforced rocker box, tank was an air reciever tank over the diff, possibly somewhere in Portugal, or did I just make that up ?

Welcome. The twin wheel thing is ok I think because as long as the are not more than about 12" apart or summit like that they are counteda s one wheel. Check with the VOSA sva tech guy befpre starting though for exact details. I'll see if I have his phone number

eh up mate, I think the twin wheel is OK if the wheel centres are no more than 18 inches apart, also they are on the one axle so that helps. Go for it its nice to something a little different being done

Yup, start a fresh thread in the Trike Tech bit for your build, then we can all follow your progress & chip in with stupid ideas, helpful advice. Good luck!
