Hi can anyone HELP
I'm building a trike using a 535 Virago as a doner.I've used the engine, loom and all the origional ancilleries.
During the rebuild and test stage (Prior to restarting the engine) when the ignition and kill switch are both on the fuel pump would run for 5 seconds aprox' as it should.
But now I'm in a possition to start it the pump don't run???
I've tested the pump and with a direct 12 volt supply that runs but whe connected through the loom it don't work
Any ideas can any one shed any light???  Angry

All the models I have seen of the Virago have had carburrettors, including my own 750, so I'm mystified where your fuel pump comes from? Morrag

The 535 Virago has twin fuel tanks, one in the normal place and one below the seat hence it uses a pump

I have checked the Haynes man. and now see what you mean! the seperate fuel tank is listed as an "emergency" fuel supply, and from the wiring diag. is operated via a fuel switcxh, supplied via the engine stop/ cut off, and the fuel supplied through a petrol solenoid, held "off" when the motor is fed from the 'above engine' tank fuel.I can send you a copy of the schematic if you wish, what year is the bike? cheers, Morrag
