Without it's wheels it reminded me of James Bond's Lotus submarine. Taz & I had a ride in our friend Bill's GT replica http://mankymonkeymotors.co.uk/Hotrodpageimages/billsgt40/words.htmlStunning looking car, but possibly the most uncomfortable, claustrophobic vehicle I've ever travelled in.

Chuffed is one word for it . Yes I'm really pleased with it and looking forward to the day I can drive it but that's still a long way off.

Couldn't figure out where you'd got that photo for a minute -it's on the tank of the bike owned by the guy who now owns "Pinball Wizard", the famous Charger engined custom Ford Pop, who gave us his old Charger engine for free. Yeah, you could well be right Sir.

My day off today, but Taz had to work, so I made a quick solo visit to JC Restorations to check on progress & pay John another couple of hundred quid off our bill. No further progress on Taz's car though as several of the workforce are on holiday so Andy, the guy who's working on ours, was seconded to other vehicles. No matter, gives us a chance to catch up on the payments a bit. I dropped off the front K member we bought from one of Taz's fellow MMA members, to replace the original twisted one. Next job for us is to order a complete set of suspension bushes. They'll either come from Steve at "Beaver Bushes", (!), or from Jack's Autos in New Jersey. Cheaper to buy from the States but we have to weigh that against the shipping & import charges. We also need a front windscreen rubber so JC's can put the glass in to check the fit.

Wrap it up. I'll take it with me. Various motors awaiting work. An Oldsmobile, a Daimler & a Volvo Amazon.

Another Dodge Charger. This one's a '72 model. Different shaped back end & nowhere near as desirable as the 60s models, (if it's yours, sorry but they're not!).

Bungee strap steering column support must've been an optional extra, as was the floor by the look of it. This one's a column shift. Note the collapsible section in the column. Every car has one now, but this is 40 years old.

"Reserve not met". Highest prices go to "numbers matching" cars -the original engine & chassis as they left the factory, but that jumbo hemi motor bumps up the price I guess. He's erm, very vocal about how wonderful his car is isn't he.
