whats the most ptactical batterie to fit on a reliant trike where space is limited

All ours use a 14 amp hour bike battery, as used on mid sized Jap bikes, (mine was from an XS850 Yam).
They'll take the charge from the Reliant alternator, (same model as used on Austin Minis & early LandRovers), & run the motor quite happily -don't forget to use a ballast resistor or you'll fry the points. We know cos we've done it several times! If you leave the trike sat in your shed unused for a month or so though, you'll probably have to give it a quick jumpstart the first time you drag it out into the daylight again.

Very noble of you to volunteer for the dumb questions job VB  12 volt. Later Reliants actually run on about 9 volts, only using a full 12 for starting. The ballast resistor costs about 15 quid & acts as a heat sink to get rid of the surplus, so needs to be mounted in the airflow to keep it cool. Without it the plastic body of the points melts -doesn't it Mr Flap! |

2 new 18ah battery,s ordered from county battery,s at nottingham(found the peeps in shops on evil bay)
£8.75 each +post not bad me thinks

Coo, that's cheap! They're usually shipped dry, so you might find they're not supplying the acid with them. Could cost you time & money trying to get them filled.
Flap & I bought new batteries each at the BMF show in Peterborough. Cost 20 quid each.

beware batteries are like motorcycles. you have your honda, kawasaki, suzuki, yamaha etc. then you have jinlun boatian kinroad. they not all created equal  not trying to sell you any as mine are more expensive than the ones quoted above |

battery,s arrived at 8.30 am this morning their genuine exide as promised i just cant beleive it for the price of £8.75 each i only ordered them on friday
