Has any one ever used a different temp gauge on a reliant Robin engine using the original temp sender, want to try and find a compatible gauge that is in its own pod and not in a cluster as per original robin,.
Any help would be great as changing over to an aftermarket kit is could cause a problem with removing old sender and wiring issues.
Thanks for any help/advice.

I used an old Smiths temp gauge, with the std reliant sender,  mounted in the headlight but pods are available. It just needed a resistor in line to get it to read accurately. Well accurately enough to show when it's cold, normal or hot.
Used to be when buying after market gauges they came with an appropriate sender.

Later Reliant Robins used separate gauges as supplied by
https://www.etbinstruments.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=59_69_77
.
The following is the temperature sender required which is a direct fit ;

.
No problem with the wiring which is simple and is given on the following link ;
