i've made a decision, steel ordered for new 2cv chassis.

will be a lightweight chassis. need to remove body first, some parts of original chassis will be used. (cross tubes with suspension mounts on ends)

i've been starting stripping interior out, and omg!!!! think i might have to give up on this, no idea how it was mot'ed last year.
rot everywhere.
i'm glad its off the road now, not going back on.

will take some pics tomorrow to show how bad it is.

but not given up on it.

will be getting the knot wheel out at weekend, plus sparking the mig up. more steel plate being delivered next week.

will still have original chassis. Smiley

i've taken some more pics of 2cv, more chassis rot found after removing engine and box, a little more rot inside, but finding patches welded on everywhere. losing heart in it. not even looked on the nearside yet!!!!! time to make some decisions.

Bit like my daughter's Fiat 127 that she loved so much - she took it to a welder who said he's love to fix the floor for her but there was nothing decent to weld it to!  (She took it to the scrapyard and even they didn't want it!)
