So run me through this again -you build a remote gear linkage, running back over/around the engine? So the gearshift positions will be reversed? Then what? How do you get forward gears instead of 4 reverses? I'm confoosed.

the diff is reversed in the gearbox. yes that easy!!!! the gearshift pattern is strange anyway so altering it won't make much difference.

You can change the pattern back to 'correct' by varying the new shifter pivot point from base to midway.

Uh-oh ! A bit more work required then. The only consolation is a separate chassis is easier to repair.

just done a quick calculation of parts needed for 2cv, this does not include anything i've spent so far plus any of the little extras that might be needed. just off the shelf parts. £666!!!!! blimey!! plus it could realy do with new chassis which is £600, then lots and lots of extra's

Just been and looked closer at 2cv chassis, past saving. Looks like this could be broken for spares. Sh*troen, bye bye. Sh*troen, bye bye. Sh*troen, bye bye. Sh*troen, bye bye.
