I believe that towing vehicles, just like traders vans, will be exempt. The towing vehicle does not form part of the display, and it`s the display vehicles/exhibits that make up the show. The organisers will only be interested in the exhibits and not how they are transported. Any transport vehicle will have it`s own insurance (or it would not be on the road) and any accident involving these will be sorted out via your own insurance company because the field will be `private property, public access`. I would imagine that the list they require will be a `get out of jail free` card, as although the organisers will have an insurance policy in place, they will counter claim from your own individual insurance company`s in the event of an accident involving a privately insured vehicle.

PM received Pete. The organiser I deal with wasn't at home when I called there after work today, so I'll try again after the bank holiday. Don't worry too much about it now guys, for now I'd just like to know how many vehicles we can mustor.

Looks like I'm not going to make it again, went for a 30 mile ride yesterday to deliver Easter Eggs, just woke up and I can't move, legs, shoulders and back all playing up.
Looks like the trike will have to be sold, I can't be putting up with this much pain.

No-o-o-o!! You're the longest serving trikist I know Doc. You've put in more years at the bars of that trike than I can remember. Would be a real shame to sell it. Get a new body instead.

Must be an age thing. I'm finding I spend all morning/early afternoon walking the streets delivering the Mail, & by the time I get to Loony's workshop to work on my car I'm just chilled right through to the bones. Never seem to get warm again. C'mon Summer, we need some warmth!

I hate the idea of Doc without his trike too but I do sympathise, hate to think what state I'd be in if I rode that far in this weather. It's just not practical to have a trike as a daily driver, and for me, not practical to have one for the very few weekends I enjoyed (rather than endured) last year.
It's so cold I couldn't even get motivated to go - in the CAR - to Southampton to a bike show today. I'm seriously thinking about selling Gertie, in fact I will if this summer is a s**t as last year, cos I simply can't ride when it's cold and wet.

Right. I double checked with one of the organisers today. The show's run in partnership between the local council & the Thornycroft preservation group. When I asked if towing vehicles needed to be listed with their insurance details he said For Gawd's sake, don't suggest that to the council! It'd be a logistical nightmare! So it's just road going display vehicles -if it's ridden or driven into the show, they want to know your insurance company's name & your policy number. That's all. If you're bringing something unregistered or incomplete, they don't need to know.

It was a charity do at the Talking Heads pub in Portswood road. Apparently the sun was shining there! I guess they've taken the slot left vacant by the MAG show changing it's date (and venue).

The entry passes were hand delivered today, (one of the show organisers lives a couple of streets away from me). I haven't counted, but we usually get a couple of dozen. We can get more, but we don't get a bigger pitch. So. Time to start getting organised & drawing up a list of vehicles. Only a few weeks away now guys. Who's coming?
