Very neat place to fit the tank ps would you paint or polish the tank?
Polishing will accentuate any ripples, dings or poor welding. Where it is situated will also make keeping it polished difficult. Is there 2 outlets for fuel? or is the front of the tank flat at the bottom to allow it to run to the outlet, from the pic it looks like an inverted U shape.
A point to remember for MSVA, there should be no fuel pipe joins, unions or fittings above the exhaust.

Looking at a "professional trike builders" welding makes our welding look good Ed, lol. Get the engine running now, and get a you tube video of it moving so I can see my Frankenstein's monster alive
wasn't sure if i'd get it up and running now or leave it til after paint the tunnel doesn't run all the way foward leaving a flat section at thr front, not a great photo but you get the idea A little progress Very neat place to fit the tank thanks ON ,it was about the only place left ps would you paint or polish the tank?
Polishing will accentuate any ripples, dings or poor welding. Where it is situated will also make keeping it polished difficult. yeh that true plus there won't be mant other shiney bits as there are no chromer's in N.I. as far as i know so everything else will be painted Is there 2 outlets for fuel? or is the front of the tank flat at the bottom to allow it to run to the outlet, from the pic it looks like an inverted U shape.
A point to remember for MSVA, there should be no fuel pipe joins, unions or fittings above the exhaust. there is only 1 at the right hand side so we should be ok with that one

I know most people don't do this but..... I'm going to complete mine before painting (other than primer), down to the last bolt union etc. Once I'm completely happy i've finished with tabs, fixings brackets etc then I'll strip it and paint. It would be a shame to paint then find you have missed out an important bracket or clip !

In an ideal world the only thing I'd leave till after paint is wiring, but I have to own up to painting all the tin ware including the pickup bed early due to good weather and having to do it outside.

Think I'll paint it before the test. First impressions and all that...

my original plan was to test first but now I'm getting impatient the wiring's done i just need to set it back on put some petrol in it and we're good to go so i could apply for test anytime and maybe get it on the road sooner rather than later....decisions decisions

Nope. Think it's down to the examiner. If they think it's dangerous it might fail. I only guarded the belt and fan at the alternator. The radiator and pump mean that access to the rest of the belt is difficult

The fan is centrifugal. This means that it is sucking air through the alternator from the rear. Best thing would be to put holes around the outside and not the front if you are worried about it.
