That looks like some pretty thick oil.
Except when mounting in the frame (twice), my engine never left  the ground.  Figured if it's already on the garage floor it can't fall much further.

Is it a good idea to flush these engines,I know some don't like being flushed

I tend to go with the idea that flushing an engine can lead to particles that were safely stuck to internal surfaces floating around the engine, that draining may not totally remove .
Personally, with an old engine that I'm not rebuilding, I would just fill with fresh oil, run it for a while( at least till running temp ), then do an oil and filter change.

well a little progress has now been made after a 2 month break .WOW time flies

Got the trike back this morning having had a tank made at the local trike shop, well i say local
but it's about 30 miles away. The good news is that the towing dolly performed faultlessly and we made it there and back with no issues what so ever

Tank looks good, very neat place to put it. And the towing dolly didn't explode and end western civilisation after all, good one Smiley

Is there 2 outlets for fuel? or is the front of the tank flat at the bottom to allow it to run to the outlet, from the pic it looks like an inverted U shape.
Looking at a "professional trike builders" welding makes our welding look good Ed, lol.
Get the engine running now, and get a you tube video of it moving so I can see my Frankenstein's monster alive
