Yes must agree. First time I heard of a CX500 trike I thought they were joking, I was never a fan of the bike and always thought it slow and underpowered but I wanted grunt then. I was amazed at how good the CX was as a trike, good turn of speed and plenty of torque. I am biased though as solo bikes dont interest me that much but I do like looking at the pics so post whatever you do Smiley

It's amazing how many people told me my 550 wouldn't be powerful enough to trike - anyone who's ridden with me know it has bags of acceleration!

I think with me it must have been because I always wanted something quicker to challenge my mates on their solo's Bobbi. Once I got the 1100 although at top end it was down on them they usually didnt have the bottle to push it Smiley

Step son has a CX500 trike and I have a few mates who have had them and they are great trikes, your engine would produce more power than those so like you say accelleration wont be a problem. The CX has more power than the 850 Reliant is it 50bh against 34bh or something?

99 per cent of the time  you spend time on a trike /bike/car pottering about under 70mph, and mildly accelerating,
so it doesnt really matter,
trikes arnt usually about speed etc, bikes are for that imo,
trikes are a different fun

I have seen a few project Cafe Racer type moded CX/GL 500's and they all look the biz.they give the impression of a short wheelbase, short circuit "Club" racer and are very pretty................naw, I'll stick with my SV at the mo, but you never know........., but purley as a matter of interest,I'm using ine of those motors for my next project, still in the planning stages at present, a 1930's Morgan Aero"look-a-similar" I hope!!.Morrag
