Many thanks to the guys of the Surrey Street Rodders for inviting Taz & myself along to their get-together in Guildford, Surrey this evening.
"Shakes" is a 50s style milkshake bar in Guildford town centre. It's owner, Nigel, is a rod fan & his American born wife sings in an all girl doo-wop/rock n roll group called The Sundaes. So it was an ideal venue for an impromptu meet. Certainly caused a few double takes from the evening pedestrians & passing car drivers, who came round the corner to find a dozen rods parked up & the girls in full swing in the bar.
Nigel's in talks with a neighbouring club to use their carpark for future meets so hopefully this'll become a regular feature. It was something a bit different & a very pleasant way to spend a Summer evening.
Thanks for the invite chaps.  Wink

About time someone took the plunge and introduced more 50s style venues.  Hope to make a visit soon!  Wink
