there were a few monkeys there, as panthershaun said you gotta visit it. ok i bottled on going round the track. the old pi gets quite twitchy on the rear on damp surfaces. other monkeys seen there were chevy rick and jj, sumo and 57 gmc. met several other faces from other events. some of these faces were going home each evening as they were local. hint hint mr monkey, a great weekend away. the soapbox derby was great fun as before, one even lost a wheel when it came down the start ramp. got a video of the dragster firing up in the dark. i'm getting the knack of this new camera, most impressed with its performance. many pics to sort through as a lot of shots were on continuous shoot. so it should be less than the 1800 odd it is at present mr monkey

Never understood why people think if you're into bikes or rods, you must automatically enjoy sleeping in a plastic bag in a field full of sheep poo. Or, even worse, a field full of people.
I used to ride a couple of hundred miles to a bike show somewhere, spend the day there, then ride all the way back again, only to have someone say "Yeah, but you're not a real biker, cos you didn't camp".
A good meal, an evening at home with the missus, a warm cosy bed, then a hot shower & breakfast in the morning -or a greasy burger, a freezing cold night in a windswept, waterlogged plastic tent in a field full of drunken idiots, followed by the joy of crawling out in the morning, feeling lousy, to find someone's been sick, or worse, right outside your tent. Tough choice.

Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy next year we may even have a mobile palace to kip in  Wink I know what you mean Andy but the atmosphere around 2am outside the pavilion is bloody cool, the day time part is just a small portion of the whole event. Nothing like a good blather with a load of like minded fools whilst standing amongst THE coolest collection of machines anywhere in the UK. And where else would a 100K harley show bike be told to move as it doesn't fit in  Grin Grin Grin
