Just been to the shop and collected my new bike. As the 250 is still giving me problems I have sent it to dad's garage where it will stay until I have my own. In the mean time I get to play on this. Its very smooth to ride and hopefully more reliable than what I had. It's still under manufacturers warranty for 13 months and has about 540 miles on the clock. I'm off out in a bit for a ride on it, just to get used to it you understand. Think I might take a trip to the WSSR to have a butchers at the Brand new steam engine 60163 Tornado that is there at pressent.

That's tidy.  Smiley
Is that the new passenger train they commissioned a couple of months ago? I think I saw it passing over a bridge over the A3, just outside Guildford recently. A gorgeous looking thing. Photos please!

That's beautiful.
I don't know anything about steam but I love the smell & look & sound of traction engines, locomotives, fairground rides, all that stuff.

It's great to know the skills are still there to build something like that!

Why is it that steam engines seem to be alive, with their own personalities - but diesels are boring?

Manky, if you love steam stuff, have you been to Hollycombe

Could be a good venue for a Monkey Run - no monkeys, but more accessible for those from further up the country!

Yup, been there a couple of times Bobbi. A private collection, now run by a team of volunteers since the death of the original owner. First went there with the Morris Minor owners club about 20 years ago.
A very pleasant afternoon's worth of steamy stuff.
