i know its not an event but i stopped off there on the way to the triumph club event. as you can tell mike is back from holiday and fitted me a replacement poiwer unit in the comp.

I've been there when it was a Round Britain Rally landmark, there was no-one else there at the time and I found that sculpture of the airman watching for his oppos to return was the most poignant memorial I've ever seen. 

Definitely worth another visit.

did stop at hawkinge first but they don't allow cameras or camera phones in the museum, seems a while back they suspect some scumbags took photos to case the joint. so now they've banned cameras and camera phones.

its not far from the end of the m20 on the way to dover at a place called capel le ferne. at the end of the month they've a spit flying over the memorial and i'll be at the hayride. http://www.battleofbritainmemorial.org/the-memorial/ not far about a mile is the old airfield at hawkinge. most of it built on but it has a small interesting museum. if yer going down you could kill 2 luftwaffe with one stone by watching the spit and a visit to hawkinge
