See this in the front garden every evening. Think it's a song thrush.

While building a large stone house a few years ago we had one build a nest inside the partially finished kitchen,she reared 3 clutches of eggs that summer

cupla days ago I knocked on a door to try to get in to read an electric meter  and was deafened by the sound of a knock knock and when I looked to my left I saw one of these little buggers next to my ear not more than a few inch away from my head
did you know that a woodpeckers tongue is so long that it wraps itself round it's brain so has to act as a damper  when it  head bangs a tree
neither did I til the chap who owned the house gave me a full running account of these birds and showed me 100's of piccs of these and other birds
Lost a full days bonus but gained a lifetime of knowledge
You can't put a price on that
