Taz & I are very lucky to live in an area of the Surrey countryside that's popular with classic car & bike owners. Always all sorts of lovely machinery about at weekends.
This was in the petrol station at the end of our village this morning. A gorgeous 1920s "blower" Bentley, named after the huge chrome plated supercharger in front of the grille. Only 54 were ever built. It weighed 2 tonnes but it's 4 1/2 litre, 242bhp engine pushed it to around 130mph.
This one actually belongs to one of our neighbours. He lives a few doors from us & used to own the local pub. His wife bought the Bentley for him for his birthday 8 years ago -for 250 thousand quid. Nice pressie. Beats a pair of socks don't it.

Luverleeeee Grin

Just imagine that thundering along (and winning!!) at Le Mans.

Here's a video telling a bit more about them......

I live relatively close to Manky & Taz, and yep, we have a fair  amount of classic wheels down this way (as well as a fair amount of congestion!!).

The Brooklands race track (the worlds first purpose built circuit) is only a handful of miles away and has a lot of gatherings.

Goodwood is about 50 miles further South (just before you get really wet), and again there are various historic events going on there.

The lumpy shiny bit at the front? "named after the huge chrome plated supercharger in front of the grille."

That be the blower

Oh, if you feel like buying one, Bonhams have this little beauty up for grabs....

but best check you have about $1,000,000 (plus comission of course!) in the piggy bank  Wink
