You'd rather be with your new born child than at the drag races?
Tisk, tisk.  Tongue
Weather permitting, I'll be there Tony, with either Taz or Loony -or both. See you Sunday.

Well Taz & I had another good day out at the races on Sunday.
I don't really follow the action on the track -got no idea who's where in the rankings, I just love the atmosphere & the cars & the noise.
We arrived in Taz's boss's LandRover Discovery, borrowed for the weekend after she had to chauffeur him to London, & were soon pressed into service to tow Steve & Lesley's Black Pig Too to the start line. Hopefully the boss doesn't read this so will never know we took his car drag racing! I believe it was the Pig's last run of the season, but I'm sure Mr & Mrs Brock will be posting a full report here soon  Smiley

Lots of familiar faces there & quite a few well known cars from way back. There seems to be a trend at the moment for ressurecting 70s show & race cars -the dream cars of my teenage years. No bad thing I think.
Ken Wilding's "Roarin' Rat"s always a crowd pleaser.

You can't convey in a photo the ground shaking, ear bashing power of these guys as they launch from the line.

Plenty of Pops there, so I spent a lot of time comparing notes for our build.
Not seen this one before, but I liked it. Heavily channelled body keeps it's full roof height & looks to be running full width Sherpa van axles at both ends. Rover power with the front beam axle pushed forward like ours & also the front inner wings cut down to just the curved sections above the wheels, as we intend to do. Left hand drive too.

Another Pop pick-up. There's been build threads on several other forums for this. It was cruising the pits on Sunday afternoon, but left on a trailer, so presumably not road registered yet.

Also Pop based & using the same Morris Minor cab back panel we have, but with a home built nose. This one's had several style changes recently & was hauling a coffin in the pick-up bed last time I saw it.
