Jeez Toady! That's a bit drastic mate! Can't you just put it all in storage for a while till you feel like taking it up again? I sold all my tools a few years back & all my bike riding gear too for the same reason -then had to re-buy it all.

As Andy said, I bet you will regret selling it all. I lost a garage full of stuff when I got divorced, and had to start all over again.

I do agree with the others, dont do it! Seems to me that you`ve been doing all the work without getting the benifit. Yes it gives you a warm glow knowing that you have helped others, but thats not why you got involved in this `hobby` to start with. Keep your kit where it is, take six months off and get the urge back again, the urge to do something that you`ll enjoy and benifit from, wether it be Trike Bike or Car.

I know you have had a rough time of it mate, but as most people on here have said..step back from it all for a few months and see how it goes....Ive only had to put up with doing other peoples bikes ahead of my own but I also came close to saying bollox to it all and selling off my bikes and bits.......Terri told me to lock up the workshop for a few days and relax..it took me a week before I decided to go back and do something in there, even then I only went back in to finish my mates chop...... Please have a time out from it and then only do what you want to do for a while.....if you need a hand with anything or just want to have a drive out and a cuppa (or pint if its Avebury lol) feel free to give me a bell or drop in anytime....Voodoo...

Hi toad. im new here but i read all the theads on trike builds. and the input you guys give. has given me the confidence to build a trike from scratch. without you and the other guys i would never have attemped it do. as your mates have said lock up and leave it for a bit then decide. once you sold all your plant ect it will be hard to replace it again. but with out your experience what chance have us newbie got. dont give up.please terry

Dont give up, im a carpenter and builder and when we have no work or a rough time we have to sell off surplus tools and materials. Then when we need those bits or that special tool for my projects i have to buy it again or hire it. Most of my projects are on hold or going slowly because of work or lack of certain parts but reading everyones bits on here keeps everyone interested. Cant tell you what to do but you will miss or need them soon.

I agree with the others mate, lock it away and forget about it BUT if you still feel the same in 6 months or a year you know that its the right thing to do.... My mojo has been very lacking these past few months due to a couple of health issue's and a whole load of work related crap, sold off quite a bit of my collection of projects but stopped short of selling the Pop and the bikes (but only just ) locked the workshop and walked away. I feel I've turned the corner again and I'm itching to get some grease back under my nails (but no more metal under the skin ) and really want to get the current 3 projects finished so I can start on the next crop would have been gutted if I had followed my first reaction and sold everything...

hi mate.Could be you,ve got a case of S.A.D syndrome. Seasonaly Affected Disorder. Give it break for a few months and once the winter season is over, and the weather gets better maybe it will re-kindle the creative juices again.I think that you would regret selling all your gear then finding that you need to buy it all again once you get the bit between your teeth.
