Well what else could I do when a perfectly healthy 14 year old cat was going to be put down cos her owner can't keep her and no-one will take her because of her age? She's arriving tomorrow, our other three cats won't mind will they?

My daughter thinks we're bonkers.

Good on yer for taking the moggy in.
I am catless since Geoffrey jumped out of the window back in July (a twenty foot drop from a second floor flat). I posted notices and asked people but he was never seen again. I'd like to think he was found and taken in by some kind person like yourself but I will never know.

She's a very small pretty dark tortie, quite friendly too considering she's in a new environment.  No photos yet cos she's inclined to hide unless she's sitting on me.  Our scaredy-cat Harley took one look and retreated upstairs, big fat black Bubble took one look and decided to ignore her, but I'm more worried about Chester who's a great big bruiser of a neutered tom, but panics at anything new!  He didn't want to come back in the house after he saw Angelica (the new one) but I persuaded him and I think he'll be spending the night on top of me!

Good on ya

Took in a 13 yr old Tabby point Siamese that is  a fruitcake about two years back. Was almost ferrel. Would not let anyone get near her.

Now.... ?

She sleeps on the bed and comes looking for attention/food and is very vocal if you don't rub her belly. (bit like me  Roll Eyes )

She even lets the kids fuss her.

Mind you I can't tell you how many times she ripped my hands to shreads when we first got her and I was trying to get her used to being in contact with people  Grin

We took on a 7 year old tabby like that - after a while we found out she behaved like that cos she had an undiagnosed back problem that meant she was afraid of being hurt every time she was touched.  Got that sorted (at great expense) and she turned into a different cat!
