http://www.sucarb.co.uk/Technical.aspxI thought you meant the small brass spigot in the float bowl cap. Some Reliants have one, which is the feed in from the fuel pump. Some have a second one directly underneath, which I assume to be an overflow back to the tank. I've only ever used carbs with the single spigot.
The larger bore pipe at the base of the dash pot, at 45 degrees to the body, usually feeds excess fuel vapours back into the air cleaner doesn't it? It's been so long since I last did any engine work I've actually forgotten.
This piccie also shows the green paper gasket between the inlet manifold & S bend by the way, which you asked about. I've removed the water jacket that's usually cast onto the back of the bend, which is fed by hot water from the engine & helps cold weather starting.
