my clutch on the gpz 900r is hydrolic but is very hard to pull back,is this normal/what  could be the problem.

I'd be interested in this too! My GPZ750's clutch is stiff to pull too, and even 'notchy' when you do! Not sure if it's hydraulic though!?!

Cant really help Tony on this but if yours is cabled Clive, then i`d replace the cable. I had the same thing on my KZ and the only thing that helped was an O.E new cable.

couple of things..

1 take off slave cyl and check seal/s not full off grease/chain wax/ white powdery cack same as brake calipers...

2 clutch basket can get badly grooved over time causing notchy jerky stiff operation, file down grooves and try that..
