Oooh its getting closer, and I'm getting nervous.

Look out for me with my Old Manor Cafe display, and come and say hello, (preferably with a cup of tea, white, one sugar and a bag of mini doughnuts).  Grin

Never gonna get my Pop on the road in time for the Hayride, so we'll be at Wheels Day for definite.

Good to see everyone from here who went. Janie had a thriving stall going for her Manor Cafe website and was a welcome respite from the rain under her gazebo.

Sorry we didn't get this on line last night but our internet was down but here is what we have so far - http://www.mankymonkeymotors.co.uk/photos.htm

Rick and Steve's photos to add when we get them in the post.

As Taz mentioned, it rained all day at Wheels Day this year. A shame but not unexpected -being held during the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, a deluge is almost innevitable. Certainly didn't stop the rods & Kustoms coming out to play though. We queued for an hour & a half through Aldershot to get into the arena. Passed several big Yank motors boiling over at the roadside -must sort out some decent cooling for Taz's Charger before it hits the streets.
A lousy day for photography -binned loads of shots that would've been great had they not been in rain-on-the-lens soft focus. We met up with lots & lots of familiar faces & names from various forums. We've noticed it's starting to take longer & longer to work our way around showfields -the more owners & builders we get to know, the more chat-stops we end up making. Fortunately most guys want to talk to Tanya, leaving me free to slope off & take piccies.  Smiley
The Mopar Muscle Association fielded at least 6 '68 Chargers, plus various other muscle-bound motors. One of their members brought along a set of exterior door handles for Taz's project. Result!
Managed to get through the day without buying more than a bag of donuts & a coffee -also a result.
A good day out, but it'll be so much better when we can roll through the gate in our own motors.   Cool

The story behind the tailgate text?
Apparently the builder's wife passed away but made him promise to have the car ready for WheelsDay.

From the time I arrived yesterday at 7.30am on the Enfield, til the time we packed away at 3.30pm, the rain just didn't stop!  There was a steady stream of water running down the concrete slope and the arena was becoming very boggy indeed.  The weather was appalling and even though I managed to keep my spirits up, the rain really got to some people!  Sad
