We'd been so absorbed in the front end work, we hadn't noticed the back end was missing! We now have a very expensive hatchback! With the floor & sills in place the car was strong enough to remove the remains of the rear quarters & start work on the trunk floor.

The man & his work. Andy the miracle worker.
Big John, owner of JC Refinishing & the only guy we found who was willing to take this project on.

Tazet, a very happy Bunny, Monkey. Hope she realises she's forfeited her Christmas & Birthday pressies for the rest of her life to pay for this motor!

I think it's great that Taz - and you - have had the vision to make her dream come true! I remember Taz saying how much she would love to own a Charger.

Today's extra car piccie. Remember the Starsky & Hutch Ford Gran Torino? The body's been lifted off the chassis of the donor car. A nekkid Torino. Wonder if they want those wheels? The car behind it's an old Datsun.

It's wonderful to see parts starting to go back on Bobbi! Very dis-spiriting to see your dream car being slowly taken apart & to hear the never ending list of disasterous faults. What doesn't really show in the photos is the amount of preparation work that's gone on before things can go back together. John, the shop owner, is a fellow Charger fan & reckons if it'd been any other model of car, he'd have advised us to cut our losses & scrap it like everyone else did. This car would definitely have been destined for the scrap heap if we hadn't been daft enough to rescue it.

Go on Steve you know you want to Yes as Andy has said it's great to now see it starting to take shape and a straight strong shape at that. I don't mind not ever having birthday or xmas prezzies again so long as I can drive this for ever It'll be worth it in the end.

New panels are becoming available all the time for Mopars. We could really do with the section above the windscreen, inside the car. Not yet available, but the corresponding rear window repair section has appeared in the catalogue since we started this. Until now, the trunk floor has only been sold as two halves, left & right, which had to be welded together down the middle if you wanted a whole new floor. Ours is a one piece jobbie. Andy, the bodywork guy, tells us that may have cost us more to buy, but has saved us a day of his labour to align, weld & refinish. Jack's Auto Parts in New Jersey have been fantastic. All the panels come from AMD & are shipped from there, across the States to Jersey, where Jack's open them up, check them over then repack & ship out to us by air freight, direct to the workshops. They're only a small husband & wife shop, but are the only people we've found, interested in shipping abroad. We're very happy to recommend them. In fact, John the shop owner is so impressed, he's just ordered every new panel for his own Superbird restoration from them.

On a much smaller scale, i`m having similar trouble getting a fuel tank for the KZ, very few want to ship overseas, and the one i found that will, was way to much in shipping charges.

Seems the Yanks are convinced the World ends at their shores & nowhere outside their wonderful country is worth bothering about. I think they have the same approach to their visits to places like Iraq, Vietnam ....
