speedo options
«

Hi folks, now please excuse my ignorance but if i use a bike rear wheel in the front of a Reliant trike I take it that rules out driving the speedo from it, leaving me with the expensive electronic option (what about msva), an original reliant item if rear wheel/tyre diameter same as original, or some type of ratio correction to use any other speedo or wheel/tyre diameter.
Are these assumptions correct folks?

Yup. As far as I can see, electric speedos are acceptable for the MSVA but next time I speak to Chris the tester I'll ask.
"Speedy Cables" will sell you a corrector unit to speed up or slow down the speedo cable to read correctly with whatever size tyres you use so you can run off the original Reliant speedo drive, (on the side of the gearbox). It's based on a lorry tacho drive & about the size of a matchbox. We'll be fitting one to Taz's trike as it'll be running a VMax rear wheel up front.
