 Sad
Just had a call from the estate agent to say the buyer of my flat's pulled out.
Bugger, bugger, bugger.
So Tazet & I are plunged into financial crisis until we can find another buyer. Really struggling to find the money for mortgage & bills. We've both borrowed up to the hilt & we're literally counting pennies now. So no dream American holiday, the Pop project will have to go on hold for a few months more & I can't even afford nuts & bolts to put the trike together.
Bugger.
And the Post Office union's announced more strikes, for which we don't get paid. Marvellous.

So do we.  Cry
At least the Solicitor has all the paperwork ready just last years accounts of the maintenance charges to get so that will reduce time next time round by a few weeks we hope.

Not much I can say - except get it back on the market fast!  And good luck with the next one.  Pity we don't have a system like Scotland where once you say you'll buy it there's virtually a contract.

STOP PRESS!

While Taz & I were in the garage this afternoon playing with the trike, I got a phone call from the estate agent. They've contacted one of the other people who'd viewed my flat, (another buy to rent landlord), & they've jumped at it, offering the full asking price again.
Woo Hoo! We're trying not to get our hopes up, but looks like everything might be back on again. It'll probably be too late to save our holiday, but hopefully we can just about scrape through financially until things are finalised.
More on the Manky soap opera as it unfolds.  Cheesy

Same as France, I would have had to pay £17K if I had backed out...as I nearly had to after the fecker in the uk backed out on my sale.

Best of luck MM

Give me some bolt sizes and I will post you some.....
All I can offer Im afraid apart from a free holiday here when the sale goes through

We might just take you up on that holiday offer matey. Thank you.   Grin
Took a little bag of bolts to the HotRod Drags at the weekend to match up threads, but there weren't any bolt stalls amongst the traders. Only small stuff like the SU carb float bowl top bolts. I think they're a BA thread but not sure which one. Any ideas?

Thanks guys.
Apparently the ground rent/maintenance charges we pay are far higher than they should be for little studio apartments like mine, which is what scared off the last guy. My solicitor's already acting on behalf of someone else in the flats, who's demanding to know where the management company have spent the money, as bugger all maintenance is ever done. The management company have just handed over the maintenance contract to a small local company, so maybe they know they can't justify the charges? Not very helpful when I'm trying to sell the place.
Fortunately our new buyer already owns another flat in the same complex so should know exactly how much the bills come to. I just can't afford to keep the flat on -three quarters of my wage goes on just keeping a roof over my head, so the sooner it's offloaded the better.

Hi VB.
Tazet is head groom/stable manager/general dogsbody, for Lord Onslow at Clandon Park, just outside Guildford. She's got a rent-free cottage in the grounds -a bit run down, but hey, it's free! At the back is a 100 foot long garden with a large shed at the bottom. Behind the shed is about 30 feet of brambles & small trees, then an access road to some more cottages. Taz has got permission from her boss to cut the undergrowth & create vehicle access to the garden, so we can bring trikes & stuff in.
So as soon as my flat's sold I'll move in with her & we'll hopefully be a damn sight better off!
Come & join us for the clearance/BBQ/get together.
