I've got the book and DVD, if you thought the Long way round was cool, well it is nothing compared to Des and his mate Dick riding a Panther and Norton from Beijing to Arnham in Holland for Dicks younger sisters 70th Birthday. No film crew just Des's son Steve and NO backup.
Please go and support Des at a venue near you, and yes I am biased as he rides a Panther but I would be impressed whatever they rode. Tongue

If you don't know him, Stevie, who posted this thread, is one of my Postal customers. Well known on the bike rally circuit, he rides a chopped Bonnie & plays the mandolin, ("one bloke, one mandolin"), & his bikes featured here:
 http://mankymonkeymotors.co.uk/Bikespageimages/STEViE/MiNE.html
He also penned a series of articles for Back Street Heroes last year on his epic bike journey to the eastern Bloc aboard an ageing GS650 -"To Hel & Back".
Our companion for the night will be another customer of mine, Nigel. He used to make guitars, also plays the mandolin beautifully, (he's often doing so when I call at his shop with the Mail), & is an ex Panther owner.
And me.
I'm truly not worthy, but should be an interesting evening.

sounds interesting.

Manky - If I gave you some money in advance, could you get me a copy of the DVD.  I'm looking for something different for Jackos 60th birthday in October.  Having said that, I might just see if he'll be interested in going to see this with me.

Would British DVDs play on your Froggy machines? Has DVD technology reached France yet?

Surely you were at the Dick Turpin rally in 2004?  Or do you have a twin?
