I was introduced to Betty Blue, the new addition to Janie & Dave's Consul fleet yesterday. Originally offered to them for spares for Connie, the sky blue 'un, it was too nice to break up, so they've now got one each.
Jealous? Of course.
I'm amazed Janie drives cars this big, being a lady of somewhat diminutive stature. I think I'd struggle.
Power steering? Power brakes? What are they?
Dave's very kindly donated his spare 1700cc Consul engine, gearbox, column shift & rear axle to my longterm Pop project, in return for some welding.
Brock's got a couple of spare Rover V8s that'd fit perfectly in those big Consul engine bays!  Grin

Sid James & Bernard Breslaw drove one in Carry on Camping. Can't get any cooler than that.

yes I remember that film.  We've also got the roof rack to go on Connie, an old style metal framed one.  Have to get a piccie of that some time.

Well, Betty Blue takes pride of place on the driveway at the moment, I've washed and chamoised her.   When it stops bloody raining, I shall get out there and t-cut her then polish her up a bit.  Dave has resprayed one of the wheels - she's looking good already, but there's a long way to go yet.

It has the original headlining, interior, rubber mats in the footwell and boot.  And the official colour is Ambassador blue.  She's not a deluxe like Connie, and I learnt today that water jets for cleaning the windscreen were not compulsory when she left the factory either???  Promise to provide piccies WHEN IT STOPS RAINING!!!

I have no intention of welding my thang, or any other part of my anatomy.
I'll show you how to point the welder & press the trigger & you can set fire to, err, weld, your own car!  Grin
Nice chamois work Janie.
