Yup, I concur. That's gorgeous. I'd be very tempted to "pick up" mine too, but the body's in too good nick. It'd be a shame to cut it up. Plus the curves of the back end of the Pop bodies are just too nice to chop. I reckon I'll end up building mine in typical 70s style -arse end in the air with fat rubber & maybe IRS, although I'm still undecided about the front wings. I love the look of the tall skinny front tyres & they'd be lost under full front wings. Not sure.

I had an email today from Pete, who goes under the name of 3inchchop on the NSRA forum. He writes:
I bought "Bella " 2 years ago. The lady who had her before me raced her at shaky. I stripped her down to bare metal, which was a nightmare -she was in a bit of a state; dodgy wiring, rust, etc, but I was fortunate enough to have friends in the car world who box-welded the chassis etc for me. She has a 2.1 Pinto. I wanted to put in a v8 but the bulkhead was in good condition and I didnt want to cut her out -in case I cocked it up! My advice to you about the roof chop is not to go too extreme. 3 inches is plenty. I'm 6 ft 1 and sat in a Pop which had a 4 inch chop but I felt hemmed in. It also depends on what seats you are using. Best try them in the Pop first then you have an idea of vision -please dont think I'm an expert, this was my first build. I made mistakes along the way but it's a learning curve. I would also recommend talking to people on the NSRA website forum. I found their help and advice great. Kris at Pop Browns has also been helpful. He gives out good free advice. Pete

please dont think I'm an expert, this was my first build. I made mistakes along the way but it's a learning curve. I always think it's really useful to listen to people who are NOT experts and have less experience - the experts take it for granted that know stuff that you don't! When I was rebuilding my Superdream I usewd to read Motorcycle Mechanics magazine which some folks slated cos the people doing the rebuilds were a bit amateurish and made mistakes - I found it very useful to learn by others' mistakes rather than my own! And it made me feel cleverer than I am!
