Teetering on the edge of insanity

« on: August 29, 2020, 06:27:53 AM »

Hi all

Thought you would like to know the trike passed her 21st consecutive MOT yesterday.
Not an everyday ride now since I changed jobs in January but still ride when I have the energy.

After a horrendous start yesterday when I found I had lost my debit card (for the second time this year) I managed to borrow the wife's card got some cash and headed for Chard about 20 miles away.
Not 3 miles down the road the heavens opened and within seconds was soaked to the skin despite waterproofs.
Not a good omen I thought.
The trike then ran on anything between one and 4 cylinders until I'd cleared the water and the sun came out. Now on all 4 literally steamed all the remaining miles to the MOT station and as I was a bit late the doors to the barn where already opened, I rode straight in on to the brake tester. 45 mins later and 38 quid poorer I emerged with the 21st MOT pass certificate.
Rode home damp but delighted.
Next milestone 25 Years.
The only thing I had to do to pass this year was to put some grip on my foot pegs as i have smooth brass, so in a bit of a panic I put 5 jubilee clips on each that way I can take them off when I want, when I get time I will drill and tap them and put a two rows of SS bolts along the length to aid grip.

Suns out so I may get some photos later, kids and wife allowing Keep the rubber on the road guys an gals.

Doc

Good to see you back mate Smiley
Yours must surely be one of the longest surviving trikes on the roads by now.

Will take a pic when I get back from taking the kids bowling but its just welded to two plates, with semicircular cutouts 20mm thick.
