Cancelled steam rally :(

So I left home in Hampshire at 8 this morning & drove all the way to a village near Grantham in Lincolnshire for a steam rally, advertised on the Steam Heritage website.
Followed the SatNav directions, arrived at the correct field on the corner of the correct crossroads ....nothing. No sign of any event. No road signs, no "Sorry, the event's been cancelled" sign. Nothing.
I checked the date on the website again -yup, definitely today. So I spent an hour driving back & forth around the surrounding lanes, looking for some signs of steam.
Eventually I came across a couple of guys in Series 1 Landies sat in a layby
-"Steam rally"?
"No, we can't find it either".
So I've given up & I'm spending an impromptu afternoon in Kings Lynn instead.
