Amberley Museum,
New Barn Road,
Amberley,
Arundel,
West Sussex,

Our annual vintage car show returns to Amberley Museum. See vintage cars which are all pre 1956.  Originally known as the cobweb run, the event originates from the start of the car exhibition season when vehicles were taxed and out for their first show of the year.  Come and see some beautifully restored and original condition vehicles on display around the site.

Located in the heart of the South Downs national park, our museum is dedicated to preserving the industrial heritage of the South East.  With 36 acres to explore and over 40 exhibits to visit, you can discover the South’s working past.

Exhibits include a working print shop, which is the only one of its kind in the South of England.  The BT Connected Earth exhibit shows the history of communications, with interactive displays for all ages to enjoy.  Our lime kilns are scheduled ancient monuments, which date back to when the site was once a working chalk quarry.  The Life of Lime exhibition shows the history of the chalk quarry and its importance in Sussex’s industrial working past.  Our museum is also home to traditional crafts people such as the blacksmith.  There is also a pottery on site, where our resident potters will showcase their skills on selected days.

We have our own narrow gauge railway, which you can ride and explore around the site, with many different locos from steam, electric and diesel.   We also have a historic bus service which takes you on a ride within our 36 acre site.

With our own on-site café serving locally sourced produce, and many picnic areas.  Our museum is accessibility friendly and dogs are also welcome.  Our private car park is located next to Amberley railway station.   Amberley Museum is a great day out in Sussex for all the whole family.
