Hi All.

I have been stalled on my Micra trike build as we have not had a dry day for eons. I had started on a rear end to drop the Micra lump into, and was going to make a wishbone/A-arm suspension using the Micra hubs.

Being stuck indoors, I have been surfing the web, and found that people have been dropping various small jap engines into old mini's for ages.

It turns out that the Micra engine will go straight into a Mini front subframe with hardly any mods, so I am looking for one to have a look at.

Sounds an interesting idea.

I was just thinking that by the time I have bought the tube for the arms, new poly bushes, shocks, ect, I could hopefully get a mini subframe and running gear. Still might have to renew them, so I will see how it turns out.

I really want to get something on the road by the end of the year.

As can be seen in my other thread, I am going to go with the A-arm suspension. I am still researching the Mini subframe idea for posible use later .

The orange subframe photo is taken from the Trinnie Mini site. A section is cut out of the drivers side to clear the Micra crankshaft pully, and some sheet welded in.

The Micra lump sits on three Land Rover engine mounts.
