This popped up in my genres on you tube and I thought, I know a man who may find this intriguing ..... You have to put up with the prat doing the video, but just wait until you hear the cost of these things Paul.

Dam'n some of those have a lot of work in them. This was almost the first thing I made when I got the lathe, as a bit of fun for the kids. Nothing like the detail or work that those in the vid have. But spins well on the glass cooker top. 24mm diameter with a hardened steel centre.

May be starting a fad on here. Then again, perhaps not. The ball bearing idea is a good one. I may try making one with an aluminium core and a brass rim when I have some free time.

Great idea for a bit of fun ! Though my best spin time so far is only 3 min. 55 sec. so I may need to think the design through a bit more.
