Apart from the closed-road hillclimbs like Kop Hill and Shere (non-competitive for road-legal vehicles), there are various competition Hillclimbs that spectators can go and view, with close quarter access to the vehicles both on the track and in the paddocks.
Hillclimbing still has the friendly feel of a clubman's event, and vehicles can vary from vintage, V8 powered single-seaters that resemble grand prix cars, to motorcycles and specialist 3-wheelers.
Gurston Down is near Salisbury in Wiltshire, and a quick look at their website shows spectator prices from £6 up to £10
