Swedish trike. As far as I understand it think of 70s choppers and you will get a general idea. Usually very long forks, short ass and often with a VW flat four mounted the wrong way round with an extra transmission case as a spacer. Sounds strange but somehow it works.

Indian Despatch tow, then maybe a Hardly Servi-car or Mr Old's Reliant servi-car styled beast... bit of a theme here not really a trikey sort of chap, if I want a stripped down opened topped machine I would go for a basic model T speedster or modified myself

Huw. I had a look at those Mini Cooper drive shaft couplers which you mentioned, to possibly fit on the end of the 4th/5th gear shaft of this Fiesta box. I remembered how the kit car crowd turn around a bike engine and fit an adaptor over the drive splines to convert it to shaft. Looking around the net I found a company who make one-off adaptors, but I have not got hold of them yet for a price. http://www.baileymorris.co.uk/bespoke.html This is just one of the several options I have been thinking about, depending on cost.

Cheers Mate.
If I were to use the whole Fiesta box, I would still have the problem of having the gear selector on the right hand side, with the H gate being left to right. Apart from confusing any potential theives, it would be bloody awkward to use.
How about some long rods and bell-cranks to move it to the left hand side, and a front to back H gate?

I shouldn't worry too much about a gearshift being on the RH side, though a sideways H gate might be a bit awkward.

I'm interested in this, so, to get my facts right, you swivel a fwd 90 degrees and take a prop from a drive shaft to a diff? Do you have to modify the gearbox drive shaft assembly? This could open a whole new set of plans for me. More research for google
