Great people Rick!
Dave & Marcus trundle home in the model A, following a first World War Thornycroft lorry & a road roller -a very slow traffic queue, (about 5mph!).

Almost right past the site of the Thornycroft factory, where this lorry was built 100 years ago.
The show's jointly run by the Basingstoke Council & the Thornycroft preservation group.

Time Tunnel? Right, that's enough for now. I'll post the main show pics later. Oh yeah, we eventually decided to award this year's MMMotors trophy, (very kindly produced by Mr Olds), to Chris's Dad, builder, owner & former racer of the Suzuki sidecar outfit. For no real reason, other than he's been persuaded to come along by his son Chris for the last couple of years & really enjoys it. We like to encourage enthusiasm.

Excellent photos. Every time I take a lot of photos I think about getting a better camera, but I can't be trusted to use the one I've got, and that should be easy to use.

Mine was donated to me by Merv when my Nikon wore out. A little slow for moving vehicle shots, but fortunately we lot don't move very fast.

A damn good turnout considering you wondered if you should pullout for lack of exhibits! Well done everyone!

13 trikes, (one VW appeared while I was in the other show field. No idea who it belonged to). 3 cars. 3 bikes, (a Goldwing also appeared at some point while I wasn't looking). Not at all bad. I'm still determined to have a really professional, organised looking pitch with some sort of theme to it one year. Probably not next year. Or the one after that Just once it'd be nice to get everything there under it's own steam instead of having to rent vans, borrow trailers etc. One day. Show pics in no particular order.

I know them. They knew me very well. We chatted for 15 minutes. I've no idea who they are.

I love bristols. F'nurk.
Aluminium bodied Bristol really divided opinion between the "Restore it immediately" & "Don't ever restore it" camps. I think it's beautiful exactly as it is. Fortunately, so does the owner.

As was this Volvo Amazon.
Late entrants arriving. The show's pre-entry only & I didn't see these on the show fields, so maybe they'd just turned up en spec & were directed to the public carpark.

John Mould's a local millionaire car fan with a huge collection of model A Fords & British classics. He made his money from demolishing the runways at Greenham Common airbase & selling the rubble to the Highways Agency to build the M4.
