Right, it's that time of year again. Our ape adoption's just expired & I've had the letter from MonkeyWorld asking if we'd like to renew it.
For those who are new to the forum since last year, we sponsor a chimpanzee called Micky at the MonkeyWorld ape rescue centre in Dorset, (the one featured in the TV shows). It started off as a bit of a joke, but over the years we've raised over a thousand quid towards the upkeep & rehabilitation of the various breeds at the park, which is something to be proud of I think. We've also got a paving slab in one of the "walks of thanks" around the park, engraved with the MMMotors logo.
To qualify for the group adoption, we have to raise a minimum of £120, plus £1.50 postage, so £121.50
So, once again I've got to ask -are we up for this for another year? As I try to make clear, there's absolutely no pressure on anyone to take part, it's a purely voluntary thing for those that want to. We usually run a list here for a couple of weeks, so if you'd like to donate, just cut & paste the list & add your name to the bottom.
We always set the donation at £10, but obviously money's tight at the moment, & I'm certainly not gonna judge you if you want to give less. I can't offer you much in return- we get a 3 monthly news letter with info on all the park's residents, a photo of "our boy" Micky & a certificate, but most importantly, a ticket for free entry for up to 30 people to MonkeyWorld. It's a one shot thing -we only get to use it once, so we arrange a trip down to Dorset on the last Sunday in April. That's the 27th of April 2014. Put it in your diaries & come along. Bring the kids & have a free day out. If we gather more than 30 people, obviously free entry will go to those who've donated first, but we usually only manage a dozen or so cos it's difficult to pick a date when everyone's free, (we figure the end of April's best, before we all start booking up for shows & rallies). You don't have to have a custom vehicle to come along. Just stuff the family in your daily driver & meet us there. Once we're through the gates, everyone's free to wander off & do their own thing, then leave whenever they're ready. Very informal, just a thank you for contributing & a chance to meet some fellow forumers.

Donations by PayPal, cheque or cash to me please, (I'll PM you the details), & I'll pay the final amount to the nice people at MonkeyWorld.

O.K, let's start a list. Remember, please don't feel you have to, but if you'd like to, just add your name.

For those who haven't been before, the Monkey World site is quite big. As well as all the monkey compounds, there are various play areas spread about the site for children. The furthest one is very big and the children just love it.

I took my own mobility scooter last year but they have quite a few that they rent out for free. You just need to book ahead (the earlier the better) and with some ID and a refundable deposit on the day of £10, you are off and wheeling.

I know I couldn't manage without a scooter at MW so if you are in the same boat, don't let reduced mobility stop you (and your family) from joining us for a good day out.

As long as we're paid up before the visit at the end of April, it'll be fine Mike.

I know I have it somewere but it saves me searching note books and scraps of paper. One day I'll catch up with the modern world!

Ok...done.
The payment i mean, not the catching up!!!
