are you near the sea front then? hope alls well for you through the night ,it must be awful waiting to see if it will happen.

hope all the other monkeys also make it out of the storm unscathed...the worst is past use now

its all my fault  Cheesy Cheesy when i cleared ,wonderland,, i gave away an old speed boat i,d kept for years n, years and never used  should have kept it a bit longer  Roll Eyes

we were lucky, some were not but did'nt get flooded till high tide this morning. at least it was daylight.

just had my step daughter here ,,her car survived,,just,, but was making a ,,sloshing sound,,, rear footwells need gold fish ,, spare wheel well full , chassis legs full,, sills full,, and i now has ,milky,, oil  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

she said because it started when she turned the key it must be ok,,  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

its got a two foot tide mark all the way around it  Shocked Shocked  and it ,,STINKS,,

ive drained everything i can and chanced the oil.
i,ll change oil n, filter again in a few days then all we can do is dry it out and hope..

I had that happen to a car once althought it was because of a fault with the car and not a flood, the smell is the hardest to shift not nice at all  Sad

caravan is perfectly safe and all ok appart from a loose guttering joint ...,,,phew,,,,

18 moths ago the enviroment agency added another wall to the flood defences along side the emergancy sluice gate control house at saltfleet haven (the river inlet and land drain outlet)
the walls 4ft higher than anything used to be and the water came within 6 inch,s of coming over the top of it , theres a little localised flooding about saltfleet village but no real heavy damage...
not like mablethorpe where a few low lying homes are flooded out,, hutoft carr ,, view point where the sea has been right over the dunes and the carpark is now 3ft deep in sand and washed up debris,,

skegness has copped it big style sea front huts are no more bowling greens and amusements are washed out and its even been upto the clock tower in the main street Shocked

but on the good news front .

the ,chippy,, at  chapel st,leonards is open for buisiness and doing good trade  pie n, chips was ace at lunch time  Wink Wink
