handlebar tube?

Morning, can you guys tell me what tube/pipe you use for handlebars? I need to fit some oxford hotgrips but they don't want to fit my aftermarket bars and there is no way they will go over my yamaha throttle sleeve.
so the plan of action is to make my own bars (been meaning to for a while) and get a new sleeve (the yamaha one is bigger than my honda).
any info will be much appreciated.

If it's for a Japanese bike then I think the diameter is really 22mm. Personally I'd want a wall thickness of at
least
2mm.

Thanks for the quick reply ON. Yes the O/D I need is 22mm. The bars I have at the moment are 22.2mmO/D with a 4mm wall thickness (they are ally). I was thinking of at least 2mm but wasn't sure if that was enough but am having trouble finding anything thicker.

It really depends on what you intend to fit the handlebars to and how wide they are. As you say 22mm tube is hard to get in anything thicker than 2mm. CDS would be preferable.
