A good starting point might be a hole.

And that's exactly why Chris doesn't bother with forums.

It's not really a steering column but rather a steering shaft, running at an angle, between the first and second universal joints, to move the steering across to miss the somewhat larger engine. Not sure how well you wish to seal this, but a short length of tube through the bulkhead and a cut down universal cv boot, or track rod boot, tight on the shaft but loose on the tube or vise versa would stop most ingress.

Chris, have a look at these. I'm sure this is the company mine came from. PantherShaun posted a link in my Pop build thread, but I'm not trawling back through 400 odd pages to find it! My steering column's held with a bearing collar that slides onto the bottom of the column, with a pressed steel plate on the floor & another underneath. The plates bolt together either side of the floor. So the bearing is sandwiched between them. The bearing is a rounded bronze/copper/brass sleeve, like the ball in the middle of a rose joint. So it let's you mount the column at an angle to the floor. http://www.bearingboys.co.uk/SLFE_Pressed_Steel_4_Bolt_Flanged-1327-c

Aah, knew it was someone on here! I'm surprised I remembered the name of the company, let alone who told me about it!
