Woo hoo!
So that's an Oldsmobile V8 -about 4 litre? in a 1930s Austin 10 converted from saloon car to pick-up truck? Very nice Mike. Can't wait to see it in the flesh at next year's Basingstoke show -same colour as mine!

pontiac v8,,4.3 ltr  1936 austin sherbourne  and the colour is supposed to be a match of the original grey but it looks ,green,y,  it will have to be re-done ,and the rear body wants some sorting out as regards correct height (look at photo,s ) interior needs a lot of work / trimming etc ,and of course a wiring loom,,wipers ,,etc,,,etc,,,etc,, Roll Eyes Roll Eyes exhaust headers were only a mock up ,,idea,s please,,

What's up with the bed height Mike? I like the bed sides to be the same height as the swage line in the doors, but that'd make it very slab sided. Lovely looking sheetmetal work in the bed. And a great job on "cabbing" the car body -looks very original, just as it should.
There's a long running thread on the Rods n Sods forum, (where Mike bought the truck from), called What's in the trim shop this week. The guy turns out some very nice work. Distressed brown leather with fake bakelite dash? (I've got a Ford Prefect dash sat in the shed).
Think I'd just build a stainless exhaust system running under the bed & out the back -subtle rather than shouty -& painted steel wheels with Austin hub caps.

Well you asked for ideas please here is mine.  Go stake bed this is nice but beds too high and the Austin cab is way bonier. interior is nice and the steering wheel perfect.  Stake bed looks backwoodsy and as all the opportunity to show of nice wood if you can find some. its about as naturally subtle as you can get but ouses quality with a nice bit of wood.

Have you seen the underside of that? They call their cars "dynamic works of art". Lovely workmanship.
