Bike jumble and off-road show at Kempton'

http://www.egp-enterprises.co.uk/calendar.htm

http://www.egp-enterprises.co.uk/southern_classic_off_road_show.htm
From thier website:

Organisers of the famous Kempton Park Motorcycle Autojumble

Southern Classic Off Road Show & Jumble
8th December 2012 opens 10.00am - 5.00pm Adults £6.00 Children/OAP £5.00

As I am very involved in off road riding, I thought this would be an ideal opportunity for people with the same enthusiasm for racing in trials, sprinting, scrambling, speedway, grasstrack, flat track and classic racing to bring their bikes along for the public to view.

There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes for the best club stands plus a best in show prize for the best bike.

Also Ace Café London will be attending and giving away a prize for the best Cafe Racer. Every entrant will also receive a gift.

We welcome club and private entries and will start processing entries in June. Security for the machines is very carefully implemented.

Sat Dec 8th - Kemptom Park - A nice sunny December morning, so it was off to have a look around the bikejumble and show, as well as bump into loads of pals we hadn't seen for a while!

The show proved pretty good as it covered many disciplines of non-highway motorcycling, and not jam-packed, which meant you could actually get to have a close look, and take the odd photo or three.

So here are a few shots of some interesting kit.

This was a rather tidy and complete spoked-wheel XS650 roadster, I'd guess around 1976.
Overall fairly tidy condition, but don't know about the mechanicals - the price - they were asking £1,250, which I think is a pretty good deal..............

Rather tidy XS650-powered tracker on the Red Max stand.

Stock frame, Radian swing arm, special exhaust (Cool, digital speedo, flat track style tank and seat unit, rear-sets, hydraulic clutch.

Another XS650 powered tracker, cept this one has an American made Champion frame etc (Champion make frames for competition flat track racing)

Note that the bike does not have a front brake (as part of the rules) and has been converted to right-hand-side gearchange (as the bike is leant heavily to the left with the rider's foot feeling the dirt like speedway)

This is a straight line sprint bike belonging to a guy I know called Bob.

It has a replica Hagon frame and is powered by a V-twin JAP engine with straight-thru pipes.

Bob campaigns the bike each year at 1/4 mile sprints run by the Vintage Motorcycle Club Sprint Section, sometimes the other lane has an equivalent vintage bike, sometimes a modern superbike as the events are open to any age of machine.

Over 2500 photos of sprint machines can be found here (note the page may take a few moments to open)

Some gorgeous stuff there Tony. I'm always amazed at how many supposedly new ideas were actually built decades ago. Nothing new under the sun eh.
