Sickness & diarhea bug. It ain't nice. Midnight, Saturday night, Taz & I were down at the stables -one of the horses has a leg in plaster & had lain down next to the stable wall & couldn't get up again. I felt fine. Back home & 2 hours later, I feel like I'm dying. Haven't felt so ill for years. It's now Tuesday night & I haven't been to work for a couple of days, haven't even been out of the house. I feel completely drained -literally. Taz has been nipping home to check on me but says it's been too graphic even for her, & she works with animals all day! Not looking for sympathy, but if I don't contribute much in the next few days, that's why.

I'm a Postie & these next few weeks are the busiest of the year for us. Feel kinda guilty for letting them down, but other guys would take a month off without caring at all.

Over the worst of it now, (I hope), but left me feeling ridiculously weak & feeble. Shuffling around the house like an old man -oh hang on, I am an old man. I've always had outdoor jobs & been a Postman for more than a quarter of a century, so should be hardened to it by now. Trouble is, we're handling all sorts of stuff, sent through the mail, from live insects to medical samples to God knows what & handling letterboxes & doorbells at all kinds of houses -I'm suprised we don't pick up more bugs than we do really.

Keep up the fluids, bananas are good to replace lost potassium, and use salt in moderation on your food. There is a over the counter sachet called diarolyte, puts back the lost electrolytes from the, eghem, issues. D&V can be really disabling, once its over the trick is to help your body get back to balance Take care Andy

So you've literally been Manky eh! Here's for a speedy recovery Andy, the diarolyte stuff is pretty damn good when there's a lot of fluid loss.

Thanks guys. Not quite in the same league of illness as some of you lot suffer I know, but there's nothing more miserable than being ill is there. More or less over it now, but my day off tomorrow, so won't be back at work till Friday. Being very careful what I eat & drink for a while. Itching to get back to the workshop & make some progress on my truck cos I've lost yet another week now.
