so,
what are we all using to brake the rear axle?
mines a landrover one i think, and tbh, the standard yamaha cyl i had on the old xj9 trike seemed to give a better feel,
anyone else use standard bike rear master cyls to brake a reliant axle?,
mine at the mo feels wooden, although, i admit everything is not yet really worn in

have kept the original break master cylinder on the xs and its fine also kept the one on the last xs with drums on and the mot tester was surprised how quick the brakes locked up but i personally i use  the landrover 3/4 copy on my own in case i do a disk convertion again at some point, but have to admit my brakes on the xv are sh*t at  the moment because the pedal ratio isn't right

I tried the standard rear cylinder on my very first trike -an XS750 Yamaha with Reliant drums on the back. Couldn't get the brakes to lock up at all but sold the trike before I fixed the problem. Switched to discs after that.

Any large-ish cylinder from a bike will be fine on the reliant drum set up, but they aint got enough umph to shift a pair of caliper pistons.

Both my reliant and VW had land rover type fitted, not sure what will go back with either though but that's cos unless I use heel brake I ain't got a spare foot Smiley
