;D ;D Who are you trying to kid spanners no way will you scale down down size or any other such thing, trying to fool us in to believing you are cured just is not washing with me and i am sure no one else on this forum.
You are sick you will have the disease the rest of your life you need to learn to cope with it and accept it. Denial only leads to bouts of  vigorous  lawn mowing window cleaning and hoovering, before you know it you will be talking about the 1/2 price bargains in tessco extra when in company, and you will..... OH1 i best not scare you that much you are 48 now.  :).
I will give it a week tops, you will see something you want and that age old feeling will come over you your mind will be filled with little else and you will know you just have to buy it, you may fight it for a while but it will be on the drive in next to no time.  you just wait and see.
In fact as responsible forum members i think we should all help by posting desirable machinery on this thread to help you through this denial stage of your life.  ;D

You obviously never saw Wonderland North. It would take Mike the rest of his life to build up something like that again. To give you an idea I think he said there were 7 tractors hidden and I saw a bit of one

Not strictly "thread" orientated, but in the vein of early farm machinery, and something that will interest Spanners and Tbone, I have just watched episode 3 of BBC2's "Wartime Farm", and it featured the most lethal looking powered farm implement I have ever seen.An oil engine driven log saw, which consisted of a double handed jumbo saw, power driven by a "Bristol" engine, worth a watch on Iplayer just for that bit, Morrag

pontiac v8,,4.3 ltr  1936 austin sherbourne  and the colour is supposed to be a match of the original grey but it looks ,green,y,  it will have to be re-done ,and the rear body wants some sorting out as regards correct height (look at photo,s ) interior needs a lot of work / trimming etc ,and of course a wiring loom,,wipers ,,etc,,,etc,,,etc,, ::) ::) exhaust headers were only a mock up ,,idea,s please,,

Title: Re: trike=less
Post by: Manky Monkey on September 23, 2012, 12:45:11 PM
What's up with the bed height Mike? I like the bed sides to be the same height as the swage line in the doors, but that'd make it very slab sided. Lovely looking sheetmetal work in the bed. And a great job on "cabbing" the car body -looks very original, just as it should.
There's a long running thread on the Rods n Sods forum, (where Mike bought the truck from), called What's in the trim shop this week. The guy turns out some very nice work. Distressed brown leather with fake bakelite dash? (I've got a Ford Prefect dash sat in the shed).
Think I'd just build a stainless exhaust system running under the bed & out the back -subtle rather than shouty -& painted steel wheels with Austin hub caps.

Well you asked for ideas please here is mine.  Go stake bed this is nice but beds too high and the Austin cab is way bonier. interior is nice and the steering wheel perfect.  Stake bed looks backwoodsy and as all the opportunity to show of nice wood if you can find some. its about as naturally subtle as you can get but ouses quality with a nice bit of wood.

My first foray into pick-uppage was a Fiat twin cam engined Moggy Minor.

"Bag o' Spanners"?

Shame you haven't got the original engine in yours Mike -you could have Clive airbrush a portrait of Mike Meyers on the tailgate & call it Austin Powered.
The Spanners Special?

Or just give it a name -Esmerelda. Frankaustin ...Colin.

Emily's a good name for an old lady!

thats where the name has come from  she was first regd, in 1936  to     the missis
elizabeth EMILY & margaret hazel  adey
                                                                                                                                    green bank
                                                                                                                                      honiton  ***st
she,s acctually got the old ,,cancelled,, buff log book and the new  red fronted v5c,
so i can trace her back to april 1936..
